About Us

            Nearly a decade ago, Brian and I endured a challenging period when Brian fell seriously ill, causing us to lose his income. With five children, we had to depend on others for food, clothes, and help with bills, eventually losing our home.

            During these dark times, God cared for us through the kindness of churches and the community, even strangers. He showed us daily that we were not forgotten.  We received winter coats, food from pantries, and help from a group of pilots to visit the Mayo Clinic. At Christmas, a family adopted us, providing gifts and food. Without His love and community support, we would have been homeless.

He will be with you;

he will not leave you or forsake you.

Do not fear or be dismayed.

Deuteronomy 31:8

            As we recovered, God gave us a vision to help others and even provided the name for our charity: The Healing Loft. I recall thinking how peculiar the name was. I understood the term "Healing," but "Loft"? In 2016, He called us to the Upper Peninsula to serve Him and the people there, and we realized that "The Healing Loft" was meant to heal the loft of Michigan, the Upper Peninsula.

            We started small, but in 2019, we organized a coat drive for local school children, serving over 100 children and their families.  The outpouring of generosity was overwhelming

            Today, we serve communities across Michigan, blessing thousands through the generosity of individuals, businesses, and churches.

That we may be mutually encouraged

by each other’s faith,

both yours and mine.

Romans 1:12

           People who have never experienced hardship are now relying on others for help. We ask you to partner with us in whatever way (big or small) God is calling you.

           We are petitioning God to expand our territory! Please join us!
